Buffalo Bills Free Agent Target: Jamaal Williams
Jamaal Williams had a breakout season with the Detroit Lions this past season after leading the NFL in rushing touchdowns with 17. He would also break 1,000 rushing yards but it took 262 rushing attempts as he averaged only 4.1 yards per carry.
The average is not overly concerning because he was asked to pick up positive yards in obvious running situations with defenses keying on him. Last year, on downs that were between 1-3 yards to pick up a first down he had 39 rushing attempts and picked up 29 first downs, according to Pro Football Reference.
While Jamaal Williams would be a perfect fit for the Buffalo Bills, it seems unlikely they would be able to sign him this offseason. The reason is he has made it clear he wants to remain with the Detroit Lions but if by chance the two sides can’t agree to a new deal, then general manager Brandon Beane should jump at the chance to sign him.
