3 players the Bills need to step up in wake of Von Miller injury news

Gregory Rousseau has to become the premier pass rusher for the Bills
Greg Rousseau was drafted to be a premier pass rusher, and now is the time for the former Miami Hurricane to enter a full-on breakout. As a rookie last year, Rousseau played roughly 49 percent of all defensive snaps.
In 2021, he came up with 4.0 sacks in that rookie season. So far in nine games this year, Rousseau has accumulated 5.0 sacks, which would suggest a sophomore breakout.
Now, 4.0 of those sacks came in his first four games this year. From Weeks 5-13 (and having missed Week 7 and 10-12) he’s amassed just one.
Without Miller on the field, chances are Rousseau is going to get all the snaps he can handle as the lead guy, and the Bills will be counting on him to take on that leadership role. This is a deep group of pass rushers, with Rousseau being a young gun. But, he’s the one this defense will be looking at going forward. This is his line to man, and he’s got to take full advantage.
If Rousseau can hear ace some of that same energy he started the season with, along with the crew by his side stepping up, then this Bills team should be fine moving forward. Their All Pro cornerback Tre’Davious White is back, and altogether the defense has gotten healthier. Now, it’s about execution. Can Rousseau help lead this group without Von?
