For the second straight week, the Buffalo Bills are going to be playing in front of a national audience. Last week, it was against the Detroit Lions on Thanksgiving in a game they won 28-25, and now will be looking to continue that success on Thursday night against the New England Patriots.

This is going to be an important game for the Bills as they already have two losses in the division, which is more than they have had combined over the prior two years. In what is essentially a must-win for Buffalo, these are five players to watch against the Patriots.

The former first round pick had probably one of the best games of his career against the Lions with a sack that resulted in a safety as well as a fumble recovery to go along with six total tackles. The hope was that this would be the breakout year for Ed Oliver but an ankle injury in Week 1 seemed to put that on hold but recently has been making big plays for this defense.

This week, one of the top storylines is how the Buffalo Bills make up for the absence of Von Miller, who will be out for this game due to a knee injury. One of those players that can make a difference will be Ed Oliver but that won’t be the only way he can make an impact.

The Patriots are not a high-powered offense and will look to establish the run and Oliver will play a big role in slowing that down in this game. If Ed Oliver is able to win the battle in the trenches, it will go a long way in helping this defense.
