Isaiah McKenzie

Coming out of training camp, there was a lot of optimism around Isaiah McKenzie and what he might be able to bring to this offense as the slot receiver. He was replacing Cole Beasley, who was released, and the hope was that he could bring some speed and explosiveness to the offense.

Unfortunately, it hasn’t been the case this year and for the majority of the season, he hasn’t been heavily involved in the gameplan. However, the coaching staff clearly saw an advantage here and made it a point to get him the ball.

He finished the game with 10 targets, which was a season-high, and had six receptions for 96 yards and a touchdown. McKenzie had a number of big plays down the field with an average of 16 yards per reception and was the only receiver on the Bills with an average over 10 yards per reception.

This was a great game from McKenzie and it shows he is certainly capable of being a bigger part of this offense. It will be interesting to see if this is a trend that continues or just a one-time occurrence.
