Devin Singletary and James Cook

Over the past few years, the Buffalo Bills have been looking for the right formula to bring some balance to this offense. Most times, it has fallen on Josh Allen to give that balance by scrambling with the ball.

However, against the Cleveland Browns the offense was able to lean on Devin Singletary and James Cook as the two combined for 172 rushing yards on 29 carries. Both running backs would rush for 86 yards exactly but it was Singletary that found the end zone with a five-yard run in the third quarter.

While the coaching staff doesn’t want to take the ball out of Josh Allen’s hand often as he is their best player, they need games like this where they can be effective with the run game if their franchise quarterback isn’t having his best game. The past few games when Allen has struggled, they haven’t had that second option to keep the offense on track.

It will be interesting to see if the Bills can keep that success going as there have been these games where the run game makes an impact but then disappears for a few weeks.
