Top takeaways from the Buffalo Bills victory over the Green Bay Packers
James Cook role growing in this offense?
The bye week is a time for the coaching staff to evaluate their team and try to find ways to improve. There are usually one or two changes that come from that bye week and one of those changes this year could be James Cook and his role in this offense.
The Bills’ second round draft pick has been pretty much a non-factor in the first six weeks of the regular season. In Week 1, Cook would fumble his first career carry and since then had six or fewer touches in four of the next five games.
However, against the Packers he was much more involved and this certainly seemed by design. The workload didn’t increase much as he had only six touches but had 76 yards from scrimmage because the coaching staff was able to get him into space and call plays that allowed him to utilize his speed on the edge in runs.
If the Buffalo Bills are able to continue to create this type of efficiency, it will only make this offense more dynamic than it already was.
