Buffalo Bills wide receiver Stefon Diggs and Green Bay Packers cornerback Jaire Alexander share words during pregame ahead of their Week 8 matchup

One of the top matchups within the game between the Buffalo Bills and Green Bay Packers was expected to be wide receiver Stefon Diggs and cornerback Jaire Alexander. Both players are some of the best at their respective position.

Buffalo Bills wide receiver ranks near the top of most statistical categories and already has 49 receptions, 656 receiving yards, and six touchdowns. If he continues these per game averages, he will set career highs in each of those categories.

Meanwhile, Jaire Alexander has allowed only 16 receptions for 186 receiving yards this season.

It appears both players understand the matchup ahead of them and didn’t want to wait for the game to start before sharing their feelings. Thad Brown with WROC tweeted two videos of the two players exchanging words.

Stefon Diggs is used to playing the opposing teams’ top cornerbacks this season

This is not uncharted territory for the Buffalo Bills wide receiver as he has already played a number of the top cornerbacks in the league this season. In Week 1 against the Los Angeles Rams, Diggs saw a lot of Jalen Ramsey and would finish the game with eight receptions, 122 receiving yards, and a touchdown.

Then in Week 3, the Buffalo Bills played the Miami Dolphins and Diggs drew Xavien Howard for the majority of the game. In that game, Diggs had seven receptions for 74 yards.

Early in this game though, Jaire Alexander has primarily been covering wide receiver Gabe Davis. It will be interesting to see if that changes at some point during the game if Stefon Diggs starts to become more involved and make plays.

The Buffalo Bills have an early 7-0 lead midway through the first quarter against the Green Bay Packers.
