Another offseason addition that had a big game and went under the radar a bit was defensive end Shaq Lawson. The former first round pick returned to the team that drafted him this offseason and against the Kansas City Chiefs had a big sack on Patrick Mahomes in the second quarter.

While Lawson hasn’t consistently been in the rotation at defensive end when he is active and playing he has made some big plays. He does a good job against the run but against the Chiefs showed off that pass-rushing ability.

The depth at the defensive end position is critical for how the coaching staff approaches the position and for the players it means making the most of their snaps. Shaq Lawson was on the field for 34% of the defensive snaps but in that limited playing time, he made a big impact for this defense.
