Who is in and who is out for the Buffalo Bills in Week 6 against the Kansas City Chiefs?
For the first time since probably the beginning of the season, there were some questions about who might be inactive for this game. The Buffalo Bills have been dealing with a ton of injuries to this point and typically there was a good idea of who would be active and inactive heading into a game.
This week, the Buffalo Bills are fortunate to be healthy and had only one player ruled out for today’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs. That is wide receiver Jake Kumerow, who is dealing with an ankle injury that he suffered in Week 3 against the Miami Dolphins.
The only other player who had an injury designation was defensive tackle Jordan Phillips but he was only questionable due to a hamstring injury. He is active for today’s game and should see significant snaps alongside Ed Oliver, DaQuan Jones, and Tim Settle.
This meant that the inactives for today’s game were dictated more around the coaches’ game plan and how they envision today’s game playing out. One notable move was the fact that the Buffalo Bills have nine defensive linemen active for today’s game.
This will not only give the Bills’ defense the depth to match up against the Chiefs’ offense if they go run heavy, as they did two years ago in the regular season. The Chiefs could look to slow the game down and try to keep Josh Allen off the field.
The other reason this makes sense is it should help keep them fresh when rushing Patrick Mahomes, which should be another point of emphasis in today’s game.
The biggest surprise among the inactives this week is running back Zack Moss is inactive and this means the Bills will go into today’s game with Devin Singletary and James Cook as the primary running backs.
