The Kansas City Chiefs have done a good job getting pressure on Josh Allen and unfortunately, the Buffalo Bills are going to be without their starting right tackle for the remainder of the game. Spencer Brown left the game in the first half due to an ankle injury and has now been ruled out for the remainder of the game.
The Bills fortunately have a good backup in David Quessenberry to step in and the hope is that he can help protect Josh Allen in the second half of the game against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Quessenberry was signed as a free agent this offseason after he was a starter with the Tennessee Titans last year. The veteran tackle played a lot of training camp and the preseason with the starters as Spencer Brown was working his way back from an offseason back procedure.
The team was cautious about bringing Brown back and this opened up opportunities for David Quessenberry during the summer.
Buffalo Bills must improve the protection of Josh Allen in the second half
The Buffalo Bills coaching staff has done a good job of making halftime adjustments this season and this week the focus needs to be on protecting Josh Allen and giving him a little more time. Chiefs’ defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo has been effective in bringing pressure on Josh Allen and rattling him for most of the first half.
The Bills did find success on their final drive with the long touchdown drive to close the first half and will want to build on that for the remainder of the game. I would expect Spagnuolo to test the new right tackle and if David Quessenberry can have a good game, the Bills offense will have a chance to put up points and hopefully secure the victory over the Kansas City Chiefs.
