Bold Prediction #1: Buffalo Bills get out to an early lead

Buffalo’s best offensive attribute is that it can score early and often in ball games. Before its comeback win over the Baltimore Ravens in Week 4, the Bills had scored on its first offensive possession in eight straight games.

An unfortunate interception by Marlon Humphrey ended Buffalo’s spectacular streak. But last week against the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Bills got back on track, scoring on its first possession from its own two-yard line nonetheless; potentially marking the beginning of a new streak.

Not only can the Bills score early points, but its defense is pretty good too. Along with the second-ranked scoring offense in the league, the Bills also field the stingiest defense in both points and yards allowed. If Buffalo’s defense can weather the storm early on, its offense will find itself comfortably ahead.

No lead is safe against Patrick Mahomes. But the way the Buffalo Bills are built, a sizable margin for the Chiefs to overcome may result in tough sledding for them at Arrowhead. Buffalo’s defense gets better as the game goes on, proven by surrendering just seven points in the second half of its first five games.
