Could the Buffalo Bills trade for one of these Carolina Panthers before the trade deadline?

On Monday, the Carolina Panthers were the first team to fire their head coach this season after Matt Rhule began the year 1-4. While it is still early in the season and the Panthers could turn things around under Steve Wilks, they are likely to be a team looking to acquire draft picks and have their sights set on the future.

This potentially sets them up as excellent trade partners for the Buffalo Bills as the Bills are 4-1 and appear to be a legitimate Super Bowl contender. They could be looking to acquire players who can help them this year and would be willing to trade draft picks if they believe the value aligns.

When looking at the Panthers’ roster, these four players could be potential trade targets for the Buffalo Bills.

The Buffalo Bills signed O.J. Howard this offseason to be that number two tight end behind Dawson Knox. That move didn’t work out for Buffalo and Quintin Morris has emerged as an adequate backup in the passing game.

However, the Bills could look for a run-blocking tight end and be a potential replacement for Tommy Sweeney, who is a free agent after this season.

Tommy Tremble was a third round pick by the Carolina Panthers last season and is behind Ian Thomas, who signed a three-year contract with the Panthers this offseason. This is not a move necessarily needed for this season but a player on a rookie contract for two more years could be a good player to pair with Knox.
