Khalil Shakir

The Buffalo Bills were missing both Isaiah McKenzie and Jamison Crowder this week, the two players who have primarily played the slot receiver position this season. Their absence created an opportunity for rookie Khalil Shakir to have a prominent role this week and he responded with a great game. He would finish the game catching three of his five targets for 75 yards as well as score his first career touchdown.

One of those catches was a 31-yard reception over the middle of the field where he was able to go up between two defenders to complete the play. It was an excellent play that showed his toughness and willingness to go across the middle.

While McKenzie hopefully can return by next week, Crowder is going to be out for an extended period of time with his injury. This means that Khalil Shakir should continue to be a part of this offense and looks like he will be just another playmaker available for Josh Allen and this offense.
