Running Back

With how the passing game was clicking, the Buffalo Bills didn’t include the running backs as much in the game. However, Devin Singletary and James Cook were effective with the limited rushing attempts they had as Singletary averaged seven yards per carry on his six attempts.

As for James Cook, he would have four carries and pick up 31 yards but 24 of them came on one attempt. That play ended with Cook scoring his first touchdown in the NFL and was the first touchdown for the Buffalo Bills this season that didn’t have Josh Allen involved (either passing or rushing).

The run by Cook was impressive as he showed good burst as well as change of direction, which is something that has been missing from the run game for a few years now. The hope would be this is a sign of things to come but it came late in the game when the outcome was already decided and I would imagine the coaching staff sticks with Singletary most weeks.

Final Grade: B+
