Buffalo Bills were missing Isaiah McKenzie and Jamison Crowder on special teams

The Buffalo Bills were forced to make changes at kickoff and punt returner this week as their primary kick returner (Isaiah McKenzie) and primary punt returner (Jamison Crowder) both missed this week due to injuries.

Unfortunately, this was a bad week to be without them as the wind made it tough to return kicks and punts. It was evident early as Taiwan Jones mishandled the opening kickoff and barely got out of the end zone forcing the Bills to start their drive at the two-yard line.

Later in the first quarter, Khalil Shakir didn’t field a punt correctly that would end up rolling inside the five-yard line and starting the offense deep in their own end of the field.

The Buffalo Bills shouldn’t feel the need to make any changes as Shakir will get better with experience and McKenzie should return soon. However, they should consider themselves lucky that the mistakes didn’t result in any points for the Steelers.
