The Buffalo Bills entered this game as a heavy favorite and it was a game they were expected to win. These games sometimes end up as trap games, especially with a big matchup next week against the Kansas City Chiefs, and the fact the Buffalo Bills were missing a number of starters due to injuries.

However, the Bills made sure very early that wasn’t going to be the case with a big 98-yard touchdown pass on the third play of the game from Josh Allen to Gabe Davis. The team didn’t look back from that point and would build a 31-3 halftime lead en route to a 38-3 victory.

These are the top takeaways from the Buffalo Bills win over the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 5.

Buffalo Bills offense finally starts hitting the big plays

One of the biggest takeaways from this game was the Buffalo Bills ability to finally push the ball down the field and hit on some of these big pass plays.

After the 98-yard reception, Josh Allen found Gabe Davis for a 61-yard touchdown as well as connected with Stefon Diggs, Khalil Shakir, Quintin Morris, and Isaiah Hodgins for receptions greater than 25 yards.

Josh Allen finished the game with an average of 13.7 yards per attempt which sets a career record for the Buffalo Bills quarterback. The only other time he averaged over 13 yards per attempt was last season against the New York Jets.
