Gabe Davis with another incredible touchdown catch against Steelers
Pittsburgh Steelers can’t stop Gabe Davis who has his second touchdown of the game
Gabe Davis would tie a franchise record on the third play of the game against the Pittsburgh Steelers when Josh Allen found him down the field for a 98-yard touchdown catch. That play would tie the franchise record set by Terrell Owens back in 2009 when he had a 98-yard touchdown reception from Ryan Fitzpatrick.
While that one play set a season-high for him in receiving yards per game, he wasn’t done there and in the second quarter made arguably a more impressive catch.
This time, Josh Allen found him for a 61-yard touchdown catch but Gabe Davis was able to bring it in one-handed and then had to wrestle it away from Minkah Fitzpatrick to complete the play.
Buffalo Bills’ offense is almost unstoppable when Gabe Davis is playing at this level
While it has been a pretty quiet start to the season for Gabe Davis, the third-year wide receiver has proven he is capable of these types of games where he takes it over. He did that in the AFC Divisional Round last year against the Kansas City Chiefs when he set an NFL record with four receiving touchdowns.
The Buffalo Bills entered this game missing a number of targets for Josh Allen with Dawson Knox and Isaiah McKenzie both out due to injuries. The Bills were going to need another player to step up for Josh Allen and that clearly has been Gabe Davis.
The Buffalo Bills now have a 24-3 midway through the second quarter after Josh Allen found Stefon Diggs for his third passing touchdown of the game. It wouldn’t be surprising to see Gabe Davis add to his touchdown total with the way he has played so far already with over 160 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
