The injuries at the cornerback continue to mount for the Buffalo Bills after Christian Benford suffered a broken hand against the Miami Dolphins. The Bills did bring in veteran cornerback Xavier Rhodes this week but it remains to be seen how much he can contribute with less than a week of preparation.

This will put added pressure on Kaiir Elam against the Ravens. The Bills’ first round pick didn’t start the first two games of the season after Benford moved ahead of him on the depth chart.

However, he did start against the Dolphins with Dane Jackson dealing with the neck injury and was a big reason for the Bills limiting what Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle were able to do.

Fortunately, the Ravens don’t have that caliber of wide receiver but do have Rashod Bateman, who is off to a great start. The Ravens have primarily been a run-first defense but this season Lamar Jackson has shown improvements as a passer.

If Elam can once again step up, and play at a high level, it will give this defense a much better chance to limit what the Ravens’ offense can do.
