3 reasons Xavier Rhodes would be a great signing for the Buffalo Bills
Brings veteran experience
The first reason is pretty obvious in that he is a veteran cornerback that likely could step in early and help bring stability to the position. Xavier Rhodes has played nine seasons in the NFL after seven with the Minnesota Vikings to start his career and the last two as a member of the Indianapolis Colts.
During that stretch, he has 126 career starts with 13 interceptions and 92 passes defended. He has made three Pro Bowls, with his last Pro Bowl in 2019 during his final season in Minnesota. He also was named first-team All-Pro once, in 2017.
Over the years, the Buffalo Bills have been fairly successful by adding veterans at cornerbacks in the later stages of their career and have produced. An example of this was in 2020 when the Bills signed free agent Josh Norman. By the end of the season, Norman was splitting the workload with Levi Wallace opposite Tre’Davious White.
By adding Xavier Rhodes, the Bills could implement a similar rotation with everybody healthy and Rhodes could rotate with some of the younger players at the position.
