The Buffalo Bills are no longer undefeated after coming up short to the Miami Dolphins by a final score of 21-19. While the end result wasn’t necessarily what they wanted, the team overall played pretty well considering the circumstances with the long list of injuries and the absence of key players.

These are the grades for each position group in Week 3.

Quarterback

The stat line for Josh Allen was rather impressive as he completed 42 out of 63 pass attempts for 400 passing yards with two passing touchdowns with another 47 rushing yards. He didn’t have any interceptions but did have three fumbles, including one lost. However, that fumble total is sometimes misleading as some fumbles were due to bad snaps by Greg Van Roten.

The fact that Allen threw the ball 63 times, which was a career-high, shows how much the coaching staff put on him this week with the injuries the team was dealing with. For most of the day, Josh Allen made the plays necessary. However, came up short in the closing minutes which essentially ended the team’s best chance to take the lead after he missed Isaiah McKenzie on fourth down inside the five yard line.

In the end, the focus may be on the fumbles or the pass that was off target to Isaiah McKenzie in the closing minutes of the game but the Buffalo Bills are not in a position to win a game without Allen and he did a lot more good than bad this week.
