The Buffalo Bills are forced to make a change at right tackle in the second half of Week 3

The injuries continue to mount for the Buffalo Bills and after having a number of players ruled out for this game, including center Mitch Morse, the team saw their starting right tackle forced to leave the game early.

According to the team, Spencer Brown is dealing with a heat illness and he has been ruled out for the remainder of the game. The Bills had David Quessenberry replace Brown at the right tackle spot.

Quessenberry was a free agent addition this offseason and saw a lot of time with the starting offense during training camp and the preseason. Spencer Brown was trying to recover from an offseason back procedure and the team remained cautious through the summer and this opened more opportunities for David Quessenberry.

Buffalo Bills struggle to protect Josh Allen in the first half

The absence of Mitch Morse has been felt across the entire offense as the Bills have struggled to get much running lane, only eight rushing yards in the first half, and protecting Josh Allen.

In the first half, the Bills’ quarterback was sacked three times. This is the same total that Allen was sacked in total over the first two games this season.

Unlike the concerns in the secondary, the Buffalo Bills are fortunate to have a veteran like David Quessenberry on the roster. He was the Titans’ starting right tackle last year and would start every game for them after starting six games for Tennessee in 2020.

The Buffalo Bills are stuck in a tie with each team scoring 14 points apiece in the first half. However, the Bills are going to need a big second half from Josh Allen if they hope to come away with a win and it’s going to have to start up front on the offensive line.
