Battle for division lead early in the 2022 season

Division titles are not won in the third week of an NFL season but whoever wins this game will certainly have an advantage moving forward. Based on the first two weeks, it is clear that the two best teams in the AFC East are the Buffalo Bills and Miami Dolphins and these two teams should be competing for that top spot throughout the season.

The Buffalo Bills have won the division the past two years after nearly two decades of dominance in the AFC East by the New England Patriots. One of the reasons for the Bills’ division titles has been their success against their division rivals with an 11-1 record over the past two seasons.

This will be the third straight season that the Buffalo Bills travel to Miami in September and based on how the Dolphins have played to date, this game looks like it will have significant division ramifications by the end of the season.
