Buffalo Bills Player to Watch: Jamison Crowder

The final player that I will be watching is wide receiver Jamison Crowder, who like running back Zack Moss had a slightly bigger role than was expected. The thought was that Isaiah McKenzie would be exclusively the slot receiver but the Bills had Crowder on the field for 31% of the offensive snaps against the Rams.

He would finish the game with three receptions on four targets for 28 yards.

While Crowder doesn’t bring the quickness that McKenzie does, he is a very reliable pass catcher with a career catch rate of 67%. He brings a skill set that is closer to what Cole Beasley was able to do in the slot the past few years.

Crowder can be that third down option that Josh Allen can look for quickly to pick up the first down, which was the case against the Rams with all three of his catches going for first downs.

Last year, Beasley had one of his best games of the season against the Titans with seven receptions, 88 yards, and one touchdown. It wouldn’t be surprising to see Ken Dorsey revisit the game plan and Crowder see his target share increase this week.
