The Buffalo Bills have known for a few months now that they were going to be in a high-profile game to kick off the 2022 season when the schedule was announced and they were selected as the opponent for the defending Super Bowl Los Angeles Rams.

It was expected to be a tough game for Buffalo and would be a good check to see if the offseason hype for this team was going to be legit. The Bills answered it pretty emphatically with a 31-10 victory over the Rams.

They would get out to an early lead with a touchdown on their opening drive before struggling to close the first half with three turnovers. However, the Bills responded in the second half to score 21 straight points and did not give Los Angeles much opportunity to make it a game.

Josh Allen justifies the hype in Week 1

One of the reasons that the Buffalo Bills were a popular pick to win the Super Bowl was because of their quarterback Josh Allen. After the playoffs he had, Allen was firmly in the discussion of not only being considered one of the best but probably the top quarterback in the NFL.

Against the Rams, he continued to justify the hype with really only one bad throw all night. That play was an interception at the end of the first half where he threw a pass late to Jamison Crowder.

Allen finished the game completing 26 of 31 for 297 passing yards, with 56 rushing yards, four total touchdowns, and two interceptions. Josh Allen has seemingly played his best football in his career in front of a national audience and this game was no different.
