The Los Angeles Rams are the defending Super Bowl champions and they were able to achieve this in large part to a number of players who are considered some of the best at their respective positions. The Buffalo Bills fortunately have a talented team that can match up well against the Rams in most cases.
However, the coaching staff this week needs to account for these players as they prepare their game plan.
4 LA Rams that the Buffalo Bills need to game plan for in Week 1
Aaron Donald
Without question, the player the Buffalo Bills will need to worry the most about in preparation for this game is Aaron Donald. It is rare for a defensive tackle to have the impact that Donald does and he is arguably the best defensive player in the NFL right now.
In eight seasons, Donald has an impressive collection of trophies and awards that includes eight Pro Bowl nominations, seven first-team All-Pro selections, Defensive Rookie of the Year, and has won Defensive Player of the Year three times in the past five seasons. In his career, Donald has 98 sacks, 150 tackles for a loss, and 226 QB hits.
When trying to figure out how to slow down Aaron Donald, communication is going to be key as the Bills will need all offensive linemen working together. The Bills should plan to have two or three players responsible for blocking Donald and also use tight ends and running backs to try and slow him down.
Another option is for using screens and quick throws away from Aaron Donald and by running plays to the other side of the field, it should help limit his impact in this game.
