5 Buffalo Bills on offense who are destined for the practice squad
Raheem Blackshear
Outside of Quintin Morris, Raheem Blackshear may be the one player that is the least likely to return to the practice squad for the Buffalo Bills. This is not because the Buffalo Bills wouldn’t want him back but rather he will generate a lot of interest as a free agent after the preseason he had.
The undrafted free agent running back stood out in every game for the Bills this preseason and finished with 116 rushing yards, 93 receiving yards, and two rushing touchdowns while also contributing on special teams with 106 kick return yards and 23 punt return yards.
The challenge for the Bills is they really don’t have any room on the 53-man roster to keep Blackshear along with Devin Singletary, Zack Moss, James Cook, and Taiwan Jones. The fact that the Bills are a pass-heavy offense it doesn’t make sense to keep the extra running back.
However, when considering Devin Singletary is set to be a free agent after the season having a player like Blackshear on the practice squad could be a great move as he could compete for a roster spot in 2023 if Singletary leaves in free agency.
