The rookie receiver out of BYU is hoping to break through with an NFL team. On Friday night, Neil Pau’u impressed.

At 6 foot 4 inches tall, Pau’u is the tallest receiver on the team; a body type, at the position, the Bills have not had the luxury of suiting up in recent years. Against the Panthers, he used his unique stature and strong hands to make catches for the team when needed.

Pau’u finished the night hauling in four of his five targets for 46 yards, highlighted by a 26-yard catch to put the Bills in the red zone. He did everything he could to make the final cut in this game, but Buffalo’s deep receiver room will present a challenge in carving out a role for the young pass catcher.

Although it’s unlikely Pau’u makes the final 53-man roster, he should have a look at the practice squad, where he can develop as a professional.
