Cam Lewis vs. Nick McCloud
Depending on how the Buffalo Bills want to build their 53-man roster, there could be an extra spot available in the secondary, especially if Tre’Davious White is out for a few weeks. If there is an extra spot, then the battle likely comes down to Cam Lewis and Nick McCloud.
This is an interesting battle because both players have primarily played cornerback but recently both have gotten looks at safety. McCloud was getting time at the position earlier this summer and talked about how he has had the help of some veterans in playing that position.
McCloud: I’ve never lined up at safety prior to this spring, but I’ve got some great vets helping me see the field from that position. I feel like it’s been going well. #Bills

As for Cam Lewis, the move to safety was more recent and occurred during the Broncos game. Head coach Sean McDermott said after the game that he thought Lewis did a good job despite not having much experience.
Bills HC Sean McDermott said he thought CB Cam Lewis looked good at safety vs. the Broncos despite not taking many (if any) reps at training camp there.

If there is a roster spot available, it may come down to which player plays better at safety. If one gives the coaching staff confidence they could back up at safety, along with playing cornerback, that versatility may decide this battle.
