The Buffalo Bills controlled the game against the Denver Broncos from start to finish. While the Broncos didn’t play their starters and the Bills did, which had an impact, there was also a clear difference between the second and third teams between the two franchises.

This is due in part to the impact that the rookie class is having and almost all had positive impacts in this game.

The Buffalo Bills first round pick got the start in this game alongside Dane Jackson. He was replaced on the second and third series by Christian Benford but the fact he was on the field to begin the game could be an indication that Elam is the player likely to start if Tre’Davious White is not ready for Week 1.

It was mostly a positive performance Elam as he did not allow any catches in 16 coverage snaps according to Pro Football Focus. However, he also was called for another penalty for the second straight week, this time a facemask.

This is something that he will need to correct if he hopes to remain in the starting lineup once White returns.
