7 quick thoughts from the Buffalo Bills preseason win over the Broncos
Buffalo Bills running backs look unstoppable
Last year, the run game for the Buffalo Bills offense was very inconsistent and while they finished in the Top 10 in rushing yards per game, it was due in large part to Josh Allen. On Saturday against the Denver Broncos, it was a completely different story as the Bills have five different running backs that make an impact.
In the first half, the Bills had 113 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns due to the trio that is expected to comprise the position during the regular season with Devin Singletary, Zack Moss, and James Cook. It also gave fans a glimpse of what their roles will be this upcoming season.
Singletary should be the primary running back and get a majority of the carries as he had 39 rushing yards on four carries. James Cook is going to be the change of pace back and had 38 rushing yards on four carries along with one reception for 12 yards.
As for Zack Moss, he is going to be the short-yardage, goal line back with four carries for 19 yards and two rushing touchdowns.
In the second half, it was primarily Duke Johnson and Raheem Blackshear and the Bills continued to dominate on the ground as Duke Johnson had 55 rushing yards and two touchdowns while Blackshear had 58 rushing yards along with 21 receiving yards.
