The Buffalo Bills are set to play their first preseason game of the 2022 season on Saturday when they face the Indianapolis Colts at Highmark Stadium. On Thursday, head coach Sean McDermott said that Josh Allen will not play this weekend and it will be a case-by-case basis for the other starters on the team.

This will create an opportunity for some of the players further down the depth chart on offense a chance to make an impact and there are a number of players to watch closely. These players could be looking to move up the depth chart or fighting for a roster spot.

Which players on the Buffalo Bills offense should fans be watching closely against the Indianapolis Colts?

With Josh Allen not playing on Saturday, this will give Case Keenum and Matt Barkley a chance for extended playing time against the Colts. Case Keenum is expected to be the backup to Josh Allen this season and he is the player I will be watching closely.

Keenum is a veteran quarterback who has played for six different teams over his career and most recently was with the Cleveland Browns. The Bills traded a seventh round pick this offseason to the Browns for Case Keenum.

This will be the first time fans get a chance to see Ken Dorsey call plays and start to get some hints at what this offense could look like this upcoming season. It will be interesting to see how Keenum manages it and if he can sustain drives.
