Jordan Phillips

Alongside Shaq Lawson, another former Buffalo Bills player on the defensive line that returned this offseason was defensive tackle Jordan Phillips. He also had a career year in his final season with Buffalo in 2019 but dealt with injuries during his time with the Arizona Cardinals and never reached the same level he did in Buffalo.

Phillips finds himself in a similar situation to Lawson in that he is unlikely to be a starter for this defense but can see consistent snaps during the course of a game with the way they rotate at the position.

While he is a big defensive tackle, he excelled more in passing situations with the Bills in 2019 and had 9.5 sacks and 13 tackles for a loss. He does a good job penetrating the line and making plays in the opposing teams backfield.

I will be watching to see if he is able to still bring that explosiveness to the position and make those plays on the Indianapolis Colts’ side of the line of scrimmage.
