The Rico Report: OBJ continues to tease Buffalo Bills fans on reunion with Von Miller
Rico is back at it again! This time to discuss the release of the 1st official depth chart. Also to discuss the possibility of OBJ reuniting with Von Miller, but this time potentially in a Buffalo Bills uniform. Rico is also joined by Evan Harrington in the back half of the episode to talk Bills punters more!
Around The League: Stafford injury concern? (3:50)
Going around the league, there is a lot of interesting news to look and talk about. The interesting thing that caught Rico’s and many Buffalo Bills fans’ eyes, was that Rams quarterback, Matthew Stafford currently has an elbow injury.
With each day of practice, Stafford’s right elbow is becoming a bigger concern.
Stafford will most likely be good to play Week 1 versus the Bills. Let’s just say he isn’t, the Rams will have to potentially turn to backup John Wolford. Wolford is going into his third season in the NFL. John doesn’t have much playing experience, but if Stafford’s right elbow is an issue, Wolford will have to step up and be ready for the Week 1 matchup against the Bills.
Buffalo Bills Release First Official Depth Chart (33:52)
WR Room: Rico takes a dive into the WR room and while he’s looking at the depth chart, there are 5 guys in his opinion that are legit locks to make this roster.
- Stefon Diggs
- Gabriel Davis
- Isaiah McKenzie
- Khalil Shakir
- Jamison Crowder
Rico also take’s a look at some of the guys who are on the outside looking in.
- Jake Kumerow
- Isaiah Hodgins
- Tavon Austin
- Marquez Stevenson
- Tanner Gentry
- Neil Pau’u
D-Line Room: The Buffalo Bills have loaded up their defensive line this off-season. Let’s take a look at some of the locks to make the roster and some of the guys who are on the outside looking in.
Locks:
- Von Miller
- Gregory Rousseau
- Ed Oliver
- Daquan Jones
- Tim Settle
- Carlos “Boogie” Basham Jr.
- A.J. Epenesa
- Jordan Phillips
Outside looking in:
- Shaq Lawson
- Mike Love
- Bradin Bryant
- Eli Ankou
- Kingsley Jonathan
- Prince Emili
- C.J. Brewer
- Daniel Joseph
CB Room: The 3 individual’s that Rico take’s a look at is:
- Kaiir Elam
- Dane Jackson
- Christian Benford
Now the question is, which one of these corners will take on the CB 1 role.
Kaiir Elam was the Buffalo Bills 23rd overall draft selection in this year’s draft. The Bills are going to rely Elam to be a major contributor while Tre White is recovering from injury.
Dane Jackson is going into his 3rd year with the Bills. Jackson was asked to play the CB 2 role last year as Tre White suffered an injury mid season. Jackson did fine at time’s. He looks to improve off of last season and step into a potential CB 1 role.
Christian Benford is the most intriguing player in the Bills CB room. The 6th round pick out of Villanova is looking to make an impact early for this Bills team. He’s had many standout performances in training camp thus far. Looking forward to see how Benford performs during training camp.
OBJ To Buffalo? (54:21)
There has been a lot of speculation recently with the OBJ possibility coming to the Buffalo Bills. The reason that is because Von Miller and OBJ had some small conversation on Instagram the other day, talking about the possibility of potentially reuniting to chase another ring.
With all the chatter sparking up about OBJ to the Bills. What would a Buffalo Bills offense look like with OBJ in it.
To kick things off, NFL teams don’t expect OBJ to be fully healthy until October. So that in itself is something to note when adding OBJ to the Bills.
When OBJ returns he would most likely be the WR 3 behind Davis and Diggs. Those 3 receivers on the field at the same time, is something that defensive coordinator’s do not wanna gameplan for.
Bills fans have skepticism about OBJ being on the Bills for multiple reasons. The first reason is because of chemistry, fans have their worries that maybe Allen and OBJ wouldn’t click with one another.
Another skepticism is his injury history. OBJ is coming off of another ACL injury and recovering from surgery. This is the second ACL tear OBJ has dealt with in his career.
In Rico’s opinion the Bills need to add OBJ. Evan agrees as well. The talent that OBJ has is unmatched. The Bills offense is already explosive, adding a guy like OBJ would make the Bills offense unstoppable!
