After about three weeks of training camp, the Buffalo Bills are moving into the next and final phase of the offseason as they get set to play three preseason games over the next three weeks.

For some players, the focus for the preseason is to get ready for the regular season as they are almost certainly making the 53-man roster. However, there is a number of players that are competing for one of those roster spots.

There are four players on the Buffalo Bills who either are on the outside looking in or have played well in training camp and put themselves in a position to make the regular season roster if they continue to perform well into the preseason.

During the Buffalo Bills’ time at St. John Fisher University, they were dealing with multiple injuries along the offensive line. While it is not ideal missing starters like Rodger Saffold and Ryan Bates, it did create some additional opportunities for players like Cody Ford.

The former second round pick entered training camp as a potential cut candidate as he is entering the final year of his rookie contract. During Ford’s time with the Bills, he struggled to hold the starting job in those three years with Buffalo whether due to position switches, injuries, or poor performance.

However, Ford had one of his best practices this week according to Matt Parrino with syracuse.com. There is still work to be done for Ford in the preseason but he may have moved from possible cut to possible making the 53-man roster.
