After the practice on Friday night was held in Highmark Stadium, the Buffalo Bills were back at St. John Fisher University Sunday for their next training camp practice. These are four things we learned on Sunday, including the first practice for one player with Buffalo.

There has not been a position that has dealt with more injuries this training camp than the offensive line. Every day the coaching staff has seemingly had a different combination of the starting five as they have tried to navigate this issue.

One player that was expected to be a starter is Rodger Saffold, who the Bills signed as a free agent this offseason. The former Titans’ guard was coming off his first career Pro Bowl season and should be a big help, particularly with run blocking.

However, he hasn’t been able to practice after suffering rib injuries from a car accident a few weeks before training camp. On Sunday, he returned for his first practice this training camp and this is a great step in the right direction for this line.

While it hasn’t been ideal to this point, if the Buffalo Bills can get Spencer Brown back to full strength (and don’t have any more injuries) it should give them a few weeks for the expected starting line (Dion Dawkins, Rodger Saffold, Mitch Morse, Ryan Bates, and Brown) time to get some practice in and ready for the season.
