Josh Allen throws over 5,000 yards

In the history of the NFL, there have been only 14 players who have thrown for over 5,000 yards but it is something that has happened with higher frequency as of late. Since 2018, four quarterbacks have broken this mark including two last year (Tom Brady and Justin Herbert).

This year, Josh Allen has the potential to join this group after back-to-back seasons with over 4,400 passing yards. The regular season expanding to 17 games also helps and if Allen can add 36 more passing yards per game from his average last year (259.2) he will surpass 5,000 yards this season.

One factor that could impact his chances at this goal would be how good the Buffalo Bills defense is. Last year, the Bucs and Chargers found themselves in high-scoring games which forced Brady and Herbert to throw it a lot.

If the Bills’ defense is able to shut down opposing offenses like they did last year, the team may not have to rely on Josh Allen and the offense as much which could restrict Allen from reaching this goal.
