The Buffalo Bills had a day off on Sunday but were back on the practice field on Monday. The team is less than two weeks away from their first preseason game and with another padded practice, the intensity is going to continue to pick up.

These are some notes and observations from Monday’s practice at St. John Fisher University.

The list of players missing practice had been growing over the first week of training camp. Thankfully none of the absences appear to be long-term and on Monday the Buffalo Bills had three players back.

The first is Micah Hyde, who suffered a hip injury during Friday’s practice and left early. He missed Saturday’s practice but was able to return on Monday, according to Sal Capaccio. This is big news for a secondary that is already missing Tre’Davious White and that the injury wasn’t more serious.

In addition to Hyde, head coach Sean McDermott said before practice that Dion Dawkins is back after being excused for personal reasons. One new player added to the list was Tim Settle, who is missing practice due to a groin injury according to McDermott. However, again didn’t seem to be overly serious and likely falls into the day-to-day category.

McDermott also was asked about Jamison Crowder and the Buffalo Bills head coach said he would be working in “some capacity”. This is also another positive as Crowder hasn’t been able to do much the first week and the coaching staff can start to think about how to incorporate him into the offense.
