Predicting the 2022 season stat leaders for the Buffalo Bills

Buffalo Bills 2022 leader in interceptions: Jordan Poyer
Two Bills were tied for a team-leading five interceptions in 2021 – safeties Jordan Poyer and Micah Hyde. While Poyer earned All-Pro honors, Hyde himself was no slouch when it came to being an effective defensive back. Ever since they were obtained by Buffalo in 2017, Poyer and Hyde have been very steady forces in the Bills’ secondary.
So between these two safeties, which one is more likely to be the club leader in interceptions this season? Poyer may seem like the more likely bet, given that he’s coming off of an All-Pro campaign. But the veteran has plenty of motivation for 2022 – and it’s a bit more on the monetary side of things.
Poyer, like Singletary, is in the final year of his contract. He has expressed his desire to stay with Buffalo beyond 2022, wishing to be a fixture in the Bills’ future. As he said during a training camp press conference: “I want to be here. That’s how I feel — I want to be here.”
Whether or not the Bills will resign Poyer remains to be seen, but it being a contract year will give Poyer a strong enough incentive to ball out this season – and potentially pick off as many passes as he can.
