The best pass rusher the Buffalo Bills will face this season, in my opinion, is T.J. Watt with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He has developed into one of the toughest players to block in the league and has led the league in sacks each of the past two years with 15 in 2021 and then 22.5 last year. That total last year tied the NFL record for most sacks in a season, a record set by Michael Strahan in 2001.
He would be named Defensive Player of the Year last year but has also made four straight Pro Bowls and each of the past three years has been named a first-team All-Pro.
Watt has played the Buffalo Bills each of the past three years and in the first two games the Bills did a good job limiting his impact as he had only 0.5 sack combined. Last year was a different story as he would have two sacks and an impressive 5 QB hits in their Week 1 matchup.
This will be Spencer Brown’s first time facing T.J. Watt as the past two years it has been Daryl Williams at right tackle. It certainly will be a tough challenge and I would expect Ken Dorsey to give Brown plenty of help in the form of tight ends lining up on that side and running backs chipping Watt as they run out of the backfield.
