Tremaine Edmunds off to a great start
This is a pivotal season for starting middle linebacker Tremaine Edmunds as he enters the final year of his rookie contract. The former first round pick will be looking to put his best performance on tape as he enters free agency and looks for a big contract, either with the Buffalo Bills or another team.
Sean McDermott was asked about Edmunds prior to practice and said the starting middle linebacker is off to a great start, according to Heather Prusak.
There is no question that Tremaine Edmunds is the most polarizing player on the Buffalo Bills roster among fans. He is someone that has been consistent but hasn’t taken that next step in terms of making those big impact plays that would move him into the discussion of one of the best in the league.
However, Edmunds is only 24 years old and there is not another linebacker in the league with his size at 6’5″ and 250 pounds that can move the way he does. He also has four years of starting experience and knows this defense as well as anyone.
The Buffalo Bills certainly have a tough decision in terms of whether or not to bring back Tremaine Edmunds. However, if he has a breakout season the decision may be made for them as they are not able to match a contract he receives in free agency.
