The next player in the rankings of the Top 25 players who will be 25 or under to start the 2022 season on the Buffalo Bills is tight end Dawson Knox, who had a breakout year with the Buffalo Bills last season.

Knox was a third round pick by the Bills in 2019 and was viewed as a player that would take some time to develop. He was an athletic player for the tight end position but was not a big factor in the offense during college at Ole Miss. In fact, he didn’t catch a touchdown during his time in college.

During the first two years with the Buffalo Bills, Knox was up and down and particularly struggled to catch the ball and be a reliable target for Josh Allen. However, that all changed last year as Knox focused on training his eyesight and his hand-eye coordination and would finish the year with 49 receptions, 587 receiving yards, and nine receiving touchdowns.

Is this the final year for Dawson Knox with the Buffalo Bills?

While Dawson Knox was a big part of the offense last year and should be again this year, it may also be his final year with the team. He is entering the final year of his rookie contract and if he has another performance this year as he did in 2022, he could be a highly sought after free agent.

However, the focus for Knox is remaining with the Bills and he made that clear after practice on Monday. According to Jon Scott with Spectrum News, the Bills starting tight end said he recently bought a house in Western New York and has communicated to the team he wants to remain here.

One of the reasons that the Buffalo Bills passing game is one of the best in the league is because of all the options Josh Allen has. Dawson Knox is a big part of that and hopefully the two sides can agree to a new deal that keeps him in Western New York past this season.
