Shuffling on the offensive line to begin camp

In addition to three players on PUP, Sean McDermott also mentioned that Rodger Saffold would start camp on the NFI list after suffering a rib injury due to a car accident a few weeks ago. Saffold was one of the top free agent additions this offseason and is expected to step in as a starting guard for the Bills.

Mark Gaughan of The Buffalo News wrote that Cody Ford was actually the player to replace Saffold in the starting line up which is surprising as Ford seemed to be a roster bubble candidate entering camp. He has struggled to hold onto a starting spot the past few seasons and this may be the coaching staff’s way of giving him one more chance.

In addition to Ford playing with the starters, David Quessenberry also was the team’s starting right tackle on Sunday according to Gaughan. He stepped into the spot in place of Spencer Brown, who did practice but missed the entire offseason due to an injury. It seems the Bills are slowly working Brown back and at this point is not likely in jeopardy of losing his spot.
