Chandler Jones

The Buffalo Bills were expected to address the defensive end position and try to add a veteran to work alongside Greg Rousseau, Boogie Basham, and A.J. Epenesa. It seemed unrealistic that the Bills would be able to add a player like Von Miller but Chandler Jones was a popular name as a potential free agent signing.

The former Arizona Cardinals pass rusher is from Rochester, NY, and played college football at Syracuse University. The Buffalo Bills made sense and according to Josina Anderson, the Bills were one of the teams that Jones was considering before he signed with the Las Vegas Raiders.

While Chandler Jones should be productive with the Las Vegas Raiders, there is no question that Von Miller will make a bigger impact with the Buffalo Bills. In addition, it is also worth noting that the average cap hit over the next three years is almost identical with Chandler Jones around 15.5 million per year and Miller around $15 million based on cap hits on Spotrac.

The notable difference is that Miller received a six-year deal compared to the three-year deal that Jones got. However, over the next three seasons, it would stand to reason that Miller will be more productive and why the Bills won’t regret missing out on Chandler Jones.
