This season has the potential to be special for the Buffalo Bills as they are viewed as one of the favorites to win the Super Bowl. They are one of the most complete teams on both sides of the ball and with players like Josh Allen, Von Miller, Stefon Diggs, Micah Hyde, and Jordan Poyer they are expected to be one of the final teams playing.

However, if the Bills aren’t able to win the Lombardi Trophy this year it shouldn’t be overly concerning as this team’s window is wide open. Recently, ESPN put together their power rankings by ranking each NFL team based on how they are set up not only this year but through the 2024 season by taking the averages of five experts across a number of different categories.

Buffalo Bills ranked first in ESPN’s NFL Future Power Rankings

Over the past few years, general manager Brandon Beane has struck a great balance of trying to put together a team for this season that can be competitive without mortgaging the future. For this reason, the Bills ranked near the top of the league in the different categories by ranking first in the NFL in the overall roster (minus the quarterback) as well as the front office, second in quarterback, sixth in drafting, and seventh in coaching.

"Brandon Beane has executed a masterclass in roster building since becoming the Bills’ general manager in 2017. The foundation of this roster has been built via the draft, but we’ve also seen calculated swings in both free agency and trades — most prominently to land receiver Stefon Diggs. The roster is loaded, head coach Sean McDermott is outstanding, and the Bills are poised for a major step forward this year. — Yates"

While the Buffalo Bills have plenty of questions past this season, they have shown the ability to retain the right players and find the talent to replace those players that they couldn’t bring back. Next offseason, they have a key group of players set to be free agents like Jordan Poyer, Tremaine Edmunds, Dawson Knox, and Devin Singletary and will have to make these tough decisions.

The excitement is at an all-time high around the Buffalo Bills and the way the franchise has been able to build to this point, that excitement doesn’t look like it will be subsiding any time soon with how the roster is set up.
