Reid Ferguson

I don’t know that Reid Ferguson is so much underrated as he is overlooked (and maybe they are one in the same) but he is a player that deserves more recognition. He joined the Bills as an undrafted free agent in 2016 and became the team’s starting long snapper in 2017.

Ferguson has remained in the role since that season and with the departure of Jerry Hughes this offseason is now the longest-tenured player on the Buffalo Bills. He has been incredibly consistent during his time with the Bills and after they agreed to a three-year extension last offseason, WGR550 Sal Capaccio tweeted that Ferguson has not had a single botched snap during his career.

This experience and consistency could be invaluable this season if Matt Araiza wins the starting punt job because this will be the first time in his career holding on field goal attempts. The fact that a mistake by Ferguson directly could cost the Buffalo Bills points is one of the reasons he is one of the most underrated players on the team.
