The tight end position has evolved over the years as they have become more athletic and no longer are just an extra blocker but bigger parts of the passing game. This creates challenges for defenses in the NFL and the Buffalo Bills are not an exception.

Fortunately for the Bills, they do have some players that do better against matching up with the size and speed that some of the top tight ends bring to the position. The most notable player is Matt Milano, who is one of the better pass coverage linebackers in the league.

When looking at the Buffalo Bills 2022 schedule, these are five tight ends that could be a challenge for Milano and the defense this season.

Hunter Henry. 5. player. 47. . .

Hunter Henry was a big free agent signing last year for the New England Patriots and he was a key part of their offense. He would finish the year with 50 receptions, 603 receiving yards, and nine receiving touchdowns. The touchdown total was tied for the league lead at the position and he would actually be tied with Dawson Knox and Mark Andrews.

While the Patriots did add DeVante Parker this offseason, there is a case to be made that Henry is the top receiving option in this offense. The problem is that with Mac Jones under center the Patriots were very conservative with their play calling.

Now entering his second season, the Patriots may look to open the passing game more and this could result in Henry surpassing what was a good season in 2021.
