The Buffalo Bills haven’t had a top-tier pass rusher like Von Miller since probably the days of Mario Williams even with Miller entering this season at 33 years old. He should significantly improve a pass rush that was inconsistent for most of the season.

In addition to the sacks and pressure that Von Miller generates this year, he should have an impact on the Bills’ young trio of pass rushers in Greg Rousseau, Boogie Basham, and A.J. Epenesa in a few ways.

The first is that Miller should continue to draw attention from opposing offenses. Their priority before the snap is going to be sure to know where Miller is and send extra help to whichever side he is lined up on.

This will help free up some more winnable matchups for these younger defensive ends.

The second reason is the experience that Von Miller brings to the position and can help pass along that information to these players entering their second or third season. The three defensive ends already attended Von Miller’s Pass Rush Summit earlier this year, according to ESPN’s Louis Riddick.

This type of mentoring should continue through the season and hopefully set these players up for breakout years in 2022.
