While most of the key offensive pieces are back, new coordinator Ken Dorsey has some big shoes to fill as he takes over for Brian Daboll. Daboll got the most out of this offense by having one of the highest early-down pass rates in the league, which consistently set the Bills up to convert 2nd and 3rd downs more frequently. Another critical thing that Daboll figured out is that you don’t necessarily need to establish the run to succeed in the play-action pass game.

Dorsey was promoted because he has been on the staff and already has a great relationship with Josh Allen. A big question for any Bills offensive coordinator is how much do you run Josh Allen? Of course, you want to minimize injury risk to your franchise quarterback, but Allen’s legs opened up the offense in the second half of the season.

I think that at 6’5 and 237 pounds, Allen dishes out more punishment than he takes, and I would like to see the QB run game remain part of the offense in 2022. As long as Dorsey keeps the ball in Josh Allen’s hands and lets him make decisions, this job should be hard for him to screw up.
