Gabriel Davis
2022 stat line prediction: 78 receptions, 1,050 receiving yards, 8 touchdowns
After Stefon Diggs, the next option at wide receiver should be Gabriel Davis. The former UCF wide receiver is entering his third season and this year has all the makings of being a breakout year for Davis.
For the past two years, he has started the season as the backup but by the end of the season, he sees his role expand to the point that he is the starter and playing excellent football. While most will point to a record-setting game he had against the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Divisional Round, he was playing at a high level over the previous five games with four touchdowns in those games.
One area that Gabriel Davis will need to improve, and certainly could help his stats in 2022, is his catch rate and drop rate. In his two years in the NFL, Davis has a catch rate (receptions/targets) of only 56% and a drop rate of 6.4% (drops/targets).
If he decreases his drops, it will improve that catch rate and he could have even more receptions this season than projected.
