2022 Top 25 Buffalo Bills 25 and Under: No. 25 Nick McCloud

The 2022 season is quickly approaching and the Buffalo Bills are expected to be one of the top teams in the league this year. The Bills are in that position for a number of veterans like Von Miller, Jordan Poyer, Micah Hyde, Stefon Diggs, and most importantly Josh Allen.

However, they also have a young part of their roster that may contribute this year but also should help keep the Buffalo Bills in contention for the foreseeable future. These rankings will look at that part of the roster and rank the Top 25 players who will be 25 or under at the start of the 2022 season.

Top 25 Buffalo Bills 25 and Under: No. 25 Nick McCloud

Kicking off these rankings is cornerback Nick McCloud, who joined the team last year as an undrafted free agent. In college, McCloud played four seasons at North Carolina State before transferring to Notre Dame and in those five years he had 138 total tackles, four interceptions, 28 passes defended, and three forced fumbles.

In the preseason, McCloud played well and in three games had eight total tackles and one interception. However, he was released before the start of the season but was added back to the practice squad.

He didn’t get a chance to play with Buffalo last year but was on their practice squad before being claimed by the Cincinnati Bengals. McCloud played 14 snaps in two games with the Bengals but didn’t record any stats.

This season, McCloud is back with the Buffalo Bills after they signed him to a reserve/futures contract after the season and he could have a new role that could set him up to make the 53-man roster.

During OTAs, defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier said that McCloud was getting some time at safety and this versatility could help him earn a spot as he could be a backup cornerback and safety while contributing on special teams.

While he may not be ready to start right now, there is potential down the road for him to contribute.
